કેમ છો? મારા મન પર શેરબજાર છવાયેલું છે, એટલે એની ચર્ચા કરવી યોગ્ય લાગે છે.

Dow Jones, Sensex, and other world indices – all poised at crucial levels.

Looking at the major markets around the world, subprime credit crunch (now stated to be around $1.3 trillion – yep, that’s billion with a T, and we have only seen declarations worth about $400 billion!) promises more pain for the financial sectors for several quarters to come, inflation just cannot be wished away while the leaders of the world fight over oil prices, food prices, commodities, and gold, unemployment figures, companies tightening belts (and underwears even) – all of these portends of bad times ahead.

The technical charts also point to the unfolding of a lethal wave that’s poised to destroy the markets everywhere, especially India which is closer to home for me. All the sectors seemed to have had their day in the sun. Now what? Tomorrow if the weekly close is below 15000, then the downward move can intensify and drag the Sensex below 14000. Bulls have tried their best to protect the fort at 14600, but have lost their grip now. One silver lining is that the fury of the unfolding down wave may be curtailed in the zone between 13700 and 14000. If not, run fast, away from the markets. But there won’t be any place for you to hide.

The age-old ‘buy and hold’ strategy is for the birds. The world economy is in bad shape anyway you slice it. I say what the heck: let’s call a spade a spade; and the emperor is NAKED whether one likes it or not. The present strategy is ‘book profits whenever you can’ and put a stoploss on your investments. I invite others to chime in whenever they feel like writing a comment or tell me off for my radical views or whatever. Show me that you’re alive and able to write.

ગુજુ બ્લોગમાં ખાલી ENGLISH માં ભરડે જઈશ તો લોકો નિરાશ થશે મારી ઉપર, એટલે અહીં ક્યાંકથી પ્રકાશ તો મેળવવો જ રહ્યો!

કવિ છે શોભિત દેસાઈ. કેટલી સરસ કલ્પના છે! આશિતભાઈએ આની એટલી જ સરસ સ્વરરચના કરી છે. એમની CD જરુરથી સાંભળશો.

Crude Oil price almost $126, Rs. lowers to almost 42 to a dollar, Nifty reversed from 5200 on bad Indian economic data (high inflation, rumours that govt. may consider appropriating Reliance oil inventories and stop them from exporting etc.)

જ્યારે Sub-Prime Problems ની વાત ચાલતી હતી ત્યારે $ ૧૦૦ બીલીયન ની વાત હતી. હવે એ આંકડો $ ૧ ટ્રીલીયન ઉપર પહોંચી ગયો છે! અને એનો કોઈ અંત પણ દેખાતો નથી. સીટી બેન્કવાળા વિ ક્રમ પંડિત $ ૪૦૦ બી. ના assets વેચી નાખવાની વાત કરે છે. એટલે એમ કે ઘરનું સોનું-ચાંદી વેચવાનો વારો આવ્યો છે. પેટ્રોલ આટલું મોંઘું કોને પોસાય? અને ક્યાં સુધી સરકાર oil subsidy આપીને OIL PSU companies ને ચલાવ્યા કરશે? ઓઈલનો લઘુત્તમ (minimum) ટારગેટ $ ૧૨૭ છે! મેં સાંભ્ળ્યું છે કે ધીરે ધીરે $ ૧૫૦ સુધી જશે! વિચાર કરો કે આ મોંઘવરી ક્યાં જઈને અટકશે?

આપણા પેટ્રોલ પ્રધાન મુરલી દેવરાનું ચાલે તો બધા states માં ડ્યુટી કટ (excise, octroi વિ.) કરાવશે. RELIANCE નાં ૧૪૦૦ પેટ્રોલ પમ્પો બંધ છે. મુકેશ અંબાણી વગર subsidy/compensation સરકારને એમનું પેટ્રોલ આપી દે એમ હું માનતો નથી. પણ election માથે તોળાઈ રહ્યું હોય ત્યારે લુંગી નં. ૧ ચિદમ્બર્મ inflation ના નાગને નાથવા સુદર્શન ચક્ર છોડવા તૈયાર થઈને ઊભા છે.

આવા વાતાવરણમાં ફરીથી SENSEX/NIFTY ડૂબશે, અને આ વખતે ૧૪૬૭૭/૪૪૪૮ પરથી પાછો ફરશે એવી કોઈ ગેરન્ટી દેખાતી નથી. ૨૦૦૦, ૨૦૦૨, ૨૦૦૪, ૨૦૦૬ આ EVEN સાલોમાં મે મહીનાએ કાળો કેર વર્તાવ્યો છે; અને આ વખતે પણ એનો પરચો દાખવે એવી વકી છે. એકાદ NIFTY PUT અથવા SHORT POSITION લઈને બેસવામાં માલ લાગે છે. સૌથી સારું તો પૈસા cash માં રાખીને બેસવામાં મજા છે. તમે શું ક્યો છો?
